Florida Cosmetology Continuing Education
All licensed cosmetologist and registered specialist shall complete a minimum of sixteen (16) hours of Continuing Education which shall include, at minimum, all of the following subjects as they relate to the practice of cosmetology:
- HIV/AIDS & other communicable diseases - 2 Hours
- Sanitation and Sterilization - 3 Hours
- Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations - 1 Hour
- Workers' Compensation - 1 Hour
- State and federal laws and rules as they pertain to cosmetologist, cosmetology, salons, specialists, specialty salons, and booth renters; specifically including but not limited to Chapter 477, F.S., and the Rules of the Board. - 2 Hours
- Chemical makeup as pertains to hair, skin and nails - 2 Hours
- Environmental Issues - 1 Hour
- Additional instruction in any of the beauty school courses approved by the State of Florida for the purpose of Continuing Education - 4 Hours

Reciprocity: No, must take exam or by endorsement.
Renewal: Every 2 years, Cos- $30, Nails - $55, Facial Specialty - $55
CE Requirements: 16 hours - Cos, 2 - Barber
